Stark, Hans-Jörg Prof.

Trained as a surveying engineer, Hans-Jörg Stark, spent his first twelve years in private industry in the GIS (Geographic Information Systems) business. He worked in the area of utilities, general GIS both in Switzerland and abroad and was co-founder of the company Endoxon that was later on acquired by Google and served the core technology behind Google Maps. At Endoxon his position was CTO.
In 2004 he followed a call as professor for GIS at University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Geomatics department. After 12 years he was looking for a new challenge, left academia and went back to industry and is currently developing the innovation of the cell of the Swiss Federal Railway Company SBB AG at the Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) after having successfully started the center of competence for drones within SBB AG.
Hans-Jörg Stark has had a mandate at ETH Zurich for many years to teach geodata processing with Python in the context of a CAS programme.
